Can the hair grow back?

Laser hair removal is one of the most common cosmetic treatments in America. Both men and women have problem areas where the either want hair reduction or complete hair removal. Many times people become tired of having to constantly pluck, wax, shave, or use various creams and lotions to get rid of their unwanted hair.

Laser hair removal can achieve a more permanent reduction or complete elimination of unnecessary hair. This procedure is usually done in a series of 4 to 7 sessions depending on the patient. Usually each session is done only once a month or every other month. In between these sessions some of the hair will grow back due to your hairs cycle of growth. Some of your hairs that have been in the dormant stage before your laser hair removal treatment may start to grow again. This is why multiple sessions are required to eliminate hair.

Between sessions you may be worried about hair growing back and not being able to do anything about it, but it is safe to shave hair between treatments. Even after you go through the first process of getting your 4 to 7 monthly sessions some maintenance sessions may be required annually. Most patients find it beneficial to get one or two more sessions a year for perfect upkeep of hair after the initial treatment. Make sure before selecting any treatment center that performs laser hair removal in New York that you thoroughly research their qualifications first.
